The Pillars of the World
Year of achievement : 2016
International Photography Awards (IPA) 2016 .
After the big crunch, material consolidates and generates planets. At first glance, these planets appear lifeless and unable to support life. They seem to just exist silently in the light. But slowly, these rocks are and will be the foundations upon which the rest will come to be.
'' In this image, the strong directional lighting creates high contrast in a very sound manner. The shadows produce an interesting doubling effect of the rocks, and they also lend prominence to the lines in the sand. I also enjoy the suggestion of time and motion in this picture.
