Yvon Jolivet is a self-taught Canadian artist born in Quebec an a scientist by training where he worked for several decades as a research professional.
His photographic approach has tended to highlight the natural environment by the symbolism that emerges from it. He often use a proximity photographic approach, which divides the territory into more complex fragments. This allows him to bring a new meaning to the forms and the natural rhythm which govern our environment.
Because he incorporates his photographs into different stories, he treats his photographic subjects like ideograms. The purpose of which is to represent the meaning of a word or an concrete or abstract idea. This "ideographic" approach also facilitates the integration of the same photograph within different series or stories and therefore brings fluidity to this too often static art.
His photographic approach has allowed him, since 2016, more than forty international honorary distinctions including the silver medal in Fine Arts at the PX3 (Paris Photography Prize). His photographs have been exhibited in several Art Galleries around the world.
